Remnants of Tropical Storm Sepat are expected to bring heavy rain and the risk of flooding and landslides to Western and Central Japan with potential rain totals of around 6 inches over the weekend.
Possible Effects:
Heavy rainfall could lead to landslides and flooding in already saturated areas
Downed trees, hindering rescue/recovery efforts
Traffic delays
Cancelled flights
Power outages in homes and places of work
Mitigating Factors to Apply:
Monitor local news and weather media for updates
Allow extra time for travel
Avoid traveling through flooded areas
Keep extra bottled water in lodging
Keep electronics charged
Check with airline for possible flight delay or cancellation
