Civil Unrest Alert - Madrid, Spain


Protests and violence are expected in several areas of Madrid 2-3 November. The Champions League Match is scheduled on 2 November at 18:45 hours at Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid. The match is expected to bring further violence to the area as well as increased police presence.


On 3 November, the General Union of Workers (UGT) and the Worker’s Commissions (CCOO) will hold demonstrations in Madrid to demand an increase in wages. Protests will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Atocha, Plaza de España (Calle Bailén), and Puerta de Toledo. Protestors will also rally at Plaza Mayor at 12:00 p.m.


Avoid gathering and demonstration locations and utilize bypasses when possible. Confirm travel routes are clear before departure.
