Situation:
On 26 July, several trade unions representing air transport workers nationwide
have called for a strike. Alitalia airline employees and Milan Linate (LIN) airport staff have
announced a strike from 00:01 to 23:59 hours, while trade unions representing other air
transport workers, including at Milan Malpensa (MXP), Bologna (BLQ), and Verona (VRN)
airports, are expected to strike from 10:00 to 14:00.
Delays, modified timetables, and last-minute cancelations are likely on 26 July, particularly
during the work stoppage.
Transportation-related strikes are frequent in Italy and can be highly disruptive. However,
in accordance with Italian law, minimum levels of services must be guaranteed during all
industrial and social actions.
