How to avoid PayPal Scams



If you use PayPal, watch out for the phish and hook. Check out our list of clues that someone may be trying to rip you off and what to do when you see them.


clues to ID scammy messages: 

  • Misspelled words

  • Grammatical mistakes

  • Message is out-of-the-blue and you can't recall the $$ it's talking about

  • "Someone" is trying to "give" you money out of nowhere (sorry, this doesn't happen, exciting as it sounds)


What to do when you see these messages:

  • NEVER respond via any link provided in that message

  • ALWAYS login to or call the service yourself and confirm if this message is actually from them or has any truth to it

  • Report them: These companies often have a way to collect reports of any scams connected to them
