Rocket Alert

Israel

Updated on 27 March 2019

The Situation:

In the early hours of 25 March, a long-range rocket was fired from Gaza into Israel territory, reaching Mishmeret, located 10 miles north of Tel Aviv. One home was destroyed, and seven people were reportedly wounded.

In the evening, Israel military forces began retaliatory air and ground strikes on Hamas targets in Gaza. Around 21:00, Southern and Central Israel were placed under High Alert.

Over the last 48 hours, there has be a significant de-escalation of cross-fire activities between Gaza and Israel, with less than a dozen rockets fired from Gaza at close proximity in the Eshkol region.

Most notably, in Sderot (bordering Gaza), a home was struck by a Gaza rocket on 26 March. IDF struck several Hamas targets in a retaliatory attack.

The last rocket fired from Gaza at 04:00AM (local time) on 27 March, was intercepted by the Iron Dome Defense. Retaliatory strikes have not been reported at this time.
